    💡Learnt A Lot
    🎯Worthwhile

if anybody had ever asked me what the one and only book i would recommend to read for every human being on the planet, i would have said this one! it’s such a thorough and extensive work which definitely requires that attention of ours.

it is pretty obvious from the title that this book is completely about discrimination. and no matter how unfair it might be at first seen to males, because yes, men are discriminated too (!), but this book is all about female discrimination. we have to finally put proper attention to the problem and look at our surroundings. as it was said in the end - benefit the women everywhere will benefit humanity as a whole. surprisingly, the statistics and examples in the book hurt you and at the same time force you to not give up and keep fighting. keep making steps.

what i did like the most is not only the personal thoughts and conclusions of the author but the infinite shreds of evidence from scientific papers and real life. (i mean, there’s a third of a book which is dedicated to references). it really opens your eyes regardless of your level of expertise and awareness. well, i thought i knew a lot about discrimination, i’m a female and feminist but turned out i didn’t know anything. there are so many aspects of female underrepresentation and discrimination which i have never even thought about. now it’s time to learn it even deeper.

p.s. i don’t want to point out the weaknesses of the book i came across through reading, because this time i decided to focus only on the positive sides. but seriously, “there is a gender data gap because we lack the sex-disaggregated data” is gonna be my nightmare

    👎Give This a Miss
