This is a love story between a gentle and kind man and a very young woman. There are two time periods, “Then” and “Now”. In the “Then” period the man is middle-aged and vigorous. In the “Now” period the man is elderly and dying and the now middle-aged woman tries to repay him for the kindness and love he once gave her so long ago.
