At eighty-nine years old, Clara Denise Graham is nearing death. While spending her last days in a hospice care center, she mulls over her life—her regrets and the things she wishes she could change, and determines that they are down to one—her daughter, Coral Jean Graham. After years of being estranged from one another because Clara murdered Coral Jean’s father after discovering that he had been molesting her, Clara teams up with her granddaughter to tell her story. It is through the telling of her story that Clara hopes Coral Jean will forgive her and understand why she made the choices she made.
