After getting to know some of the Ancient Dragonfolk and Fierce Ogrefolk, Arata and Reina head to the village where Katima and the Alfar live. But trouble is afoot: the Great Spirits, protector deities of the Alfar, have disappeared, and the village has become prey for monsters! Together with the reluctant Katima, Arata will have to journey north, scaling cliffs, traversing inhospitable wastelands, and climbing an active volcano, all to figure out what’s going on. And when he finally reaches his destination, what’s waiting for him is…a mysterious little girl who calls him her father and Reina her mother?! Arata’s relaxed island life continues, now with a new addition.
