being perfectly loving is not natural to human existence. It has to be learned. And not in one lifetime, but over a considerable number of lives

Being incarnated is all about recognising opportunities and acting on them. Those opportunities are yours. You chose them pre-birth. They exist for you to do with as you please. You can ignore them. You can do the bare minimum with them. Or you can pick them up and use them as wings to fly. Your life, with all its attendant pleasures, hassles, pains, boredom, stress, love, fullness and emptiness, is yours. Do with it as you will

Becoming spiritual involves establishing an inner state whereby one learns to recognise those cues, then works out how best to act on them. At first such cues are hazy, half-perceived, half guessed at. Initially the individual is left wondering whether the cue is real or imagined. But over time, if the individual pays attention to the subtle cues that occasionally enter everyday awareness, the haze gradually clears and the cues start being perceived for what they are

When individuals wholly surrender to the push and pull of everyday existence, allowing themselves to be driven by bodily urges, social agendas and social identity, they may certainly have a lifetime of fascinating experiences. But immersion in conditioned human interactions also causes them to miss the many inner cues that come into their everyday awareness. And by missing those inner cues they miss utilising the opportunities they themselves chose before they were born

Accordingly, just as biological, social and essence factors are deliberately chosen pre-birth, during each life individuals also have a choice with respect to how they deal with what they have chosen

self-confrontation is perhaps the most difficult of all human activities. But it is necessary in order to achieve real, lasting inner change
  • kpakho22has quoted3 years ago
For this change to have lasting impact, you need to review those aspects that are most precious in your life, such as world view, values, morality, and your ideas regarding who, what and why you are who you are

the momentum of everyday identity may only be changed through the introduction of new psychospiritual energy.
  • kpakho22has quoted3 years ago
Psychospiritually, there is a significant problem with the momentum of everyday identity. The problem is that it resists change. Accordingly, if you wish to see, feel, think and do new things, and particularly if you wish to transform your identity into a spiritualised adult, you need to change your momentum. And to do that you need to disrupt all the cycles of repetition and routine which maintain your daily momentum

Given practised individuals have elaborate ways of defending and justifying their conditioned reactions, much of what they feel, think, say or do remains at the level of conditioned reactions
