“London Fields” by British author Martin Amis was first published in 1989. It is a black comic, murder mystery novel.
Most of the readers who had earlier read the other works done by Martin Amis were of the view that “London Fields” is Martin Amis’s strongest novel.
Initially the tone of the narrative is highly comic; however, it gradually shifts from high comedy to a dark sense of foreboding and eventually to panic when it reaches the deadline, or “horror day.”
