Tom had heard wild stories of public sex in Pigalle, France but chose not to indulge. As the end of his tour of Army duty was near, his buddies insisted on showing what he had been missing. Reluctantly, he went to the red light district and lost his heart to Danielle a beautiful prostitute. After becoming a regular john, he began to hear wedding bells but she had other ideas.

After Tom parted company with Danielle and Monique, the two girls remained sitting in the nude of the park bench with their hands on each other's bare thigh. They exchanged kisses while chatting together. Their open display of affection was for the benefit of tourists strolling by who enjoyed watching kinky action without necessarily purchasing sex. Even though they might not be paying customers, they would talk about what they saw and that would surely entice potential clients. In any case, the girls of the Pigalle park were as busy as they wanted to be.

“I need to talk to you about something, Monique. Okay?”

“I'm listening.”

“Tom is a very nice young man with a bright future ahead of him but he wants me to marry him and I just can't do that. My conflict is that I don't want to hurt him but I most likely will. I am not the marrying kind.  I ran away from home in my teens and I've been a whore ever since. It was not so pretty at first but when I was arrested, the policeman was compassionate and brought me here to Pigalle when they were beginning to clean up the area to make it the park of love that it is now.

“I've made a lot of money and saved some. I want to move on but I have another fear. I'm afraid of growing old alone. I need a family member, one child.”

“That must mean you want to get pregnant.”

“Exactly,” Danielle responded. “I've talked to a restaurant owner in a nice part of Paris where I can make some decent money as a waitress. Not like what we make here, but like I said, I need to move on.”

“What about the child part?”

“I found an apartment I can rent in Paris. Tom will be leaving in a few weeks but before he leaves, I'm going to have my birth control device removed. I will invite him to stay with me for three days in Paris. It will be two weeks after my period so I will be ready to get pregnant. He will know nothing of this, but after he returns to the United States, we will write for a while until I finally tell him that he and I cannot get married.”

“Sounds like a plan but you're going to break a heart, and he will never know his child.”

“Yes, and I'm not comfortable with that, but I'll be the one who gets hurt  the most. I'll get over it and Tom will be okay in time. He has a bright future ahead of him. He will meet someone and I will become a fond memory. As the American's say, things will work out for the best.” In her heart, she did not really believe that what she was doing was necessarily right but she had to convince herself on the surface to carry out her plan.

When Tom went to Pigalle Part to find Danielle, he was met by Monique who had a message for him. He was to meet her at the Louvre Museum in Paris to see, among other things, the Mona Lisa. It was only a thirteen mile bus ride to Paris but when Tom found the museum and went inside, there was a large crowd being blocked off from the most famous painting in the world. This was his second time to see the painting from a distance through the people with cameras flashing, thus he was much more interested in finding Danielle. When he finally saw her emerge from the crowd, he dashed towards her for an embrace. “Isn't she beautiful?” she asked rhetorically.

“You are much more beautiful than she is,” he said. “You are my Mona Lisa.”
