He paused a moment, then the sword came flashing though the air in a streak of red flames. I dropped to the ground and leaned against the wall near the door. I did not want to see what I knew had happened. I buried my face in my hands and choked back the tears that tried to flow. I wished I HAD drowned in the prison; I wished I could be spared this pain.
