The New York Times bestseller, written by a former reporter for ABC News, that People magazine called “a transporting, enlightening book” tells the story of a fearless young entrepreneur who brought hope to the lives of dozens of women in war-torn Afghanistan
Former ABC journalist Gayle Tzemach Lemmon tells the riveting true story of Kamila Sidiqi and other women of Afghanistan in the wake of the Taliban’s fearful rise to power. In what Greg Mortenson, author of Three Cups of Tea, calls “one of the most inspiring books I have ever read,” Lemmon recounts with novelistic vividness the true story of a fearless young woman who not only reinvented herself as an entrepreneur to save her family but, in the face of ferocious opposition, brought hope to the lives of dozens of women in war-torn Kabul.

    🔮Hidden Depths
    💡Learnt A Lot

It was a great non fiction book, it was as easily read as a pop novel. It will give you a factual glimpse of the amazing highly-educated young women who were not only survived but also managed to give hopes to other in the midst of Taliban rule in Kabul, Afghanistan. A great book that will remind us to stay faithful and strong in the midst of unbelievable circumstances and be thankful for our everyday blessings. (Note: After reading, I googled for more info about the truth shared in this book. Unfortunately, there were many negative reviews disbelieving the factual account of this story and the writer was stated to be biased. It may be right, nonetheless I still found this book was a good read, just keep an open mind and don't instantly believe everything, read more on the topics.)
