What do you do when you're married, but feel a deep, mutual love for your best friend's husband? And he sees no other way out than an act of desperation? Angela goes with her husband Sander on vacation in Sri Lanka. But Sander also struggles with something that puts their marriage in jeopardy. Then things happen that makes the situation untenable complicated.

Shadow Woman is a poignant novel about an impossible love and secret grief, but it also shows the power of a woman who finds a new balance.

Reviewers: Five stars. Very well written; a book you can't put down.

Barbara Joy (born in 1954, married, two adopted daughters from Sri Lanka) feels like a fish in the water within the psychosocial genre. She preferably writes about controversial topics, where she shows things from different angles. She has won numerous awards and her short stories are published in several books. After years of teaching Dutch to refugees, she is coaching writers and is editor of 'LetterSpinsels' a collective of publishing writers.
