Words from Dr. Chi's story:
“Mommy, is it too hard?” the soft voice startled me as I expected her to be fast asleep. I looked up through my tears and saw the loving face of my 6-year-old daughter. I didn’t know what to do or say. She handed me a piece of paper. On the paper was a drawing of a woman with high heel shoes (I love high heels) and a purse with “dentist” written on it. Underneath the drawing, it said, “Mommy, you can do this!” She gave me a big hug. Feeling those little arms around me warmed my heart because I sensed the faith she had in me. I took her back to bed and as I gave her a goodnight kiss I realized how much my children relied on me, not only to provide for them financially, more importantly, to show them by my example that regardless of what happens in life, nothing should stop us from achieving our goals. But that was easier said than done."
Dr. Christopher Shamlian sums up his story by stating: «At each step of my journey, I have witnessed God’s perfect timing and many blessings. My life is a gift, full of opportunity and joy, and so I must share it.»
