My Weekly Devotional for Daily Struggles

to put all of my trust in You. Help me to do that, because I realize it, I just struggle with doing it. Thank you, Lord. Thank you.

Lord, in John 14:27, You talk about giving us peace, for our hearts not to be troubled, and You tell us we should not be afraid. Too often I let my worry consume me even when I know there is nothing I can do to change the outcome. I worry because I am not fully trusting You can get me through to safety. I fail to depend on You, and instead, I try to depend on myself to fix … everything. I can’t add an hour to my life, or a minute, and not even an extra second. Those things have been decided. I know I need

Timothy 1:7, Titus 2:11-12, Romans 13:12, Ephesians 5:18. The ability to beat addiction is offered. It is up to us to act.

the best part is that when we confess and repent, it is almost as if we never sinned in the first place in His eyes. That is love, true love, undeserving love. It is grace.

I have to learn to let go of my past. The only way to find my way forward is to stop looking behind me.

When I ask God to forgive my sins, He forgives me. I have to forgive myself, too. God’s promise of forgiveness is throughout the Bible (Hebrews 10:22, 1 John 1:19, 1 Peter 4:16, and in many, many more places). And

I harbor doubts about what it will take to get something done, and I end up quitting before ever starting, before ever even trying.
Why?

Loving people we never imaged loving will Glorify God. It is taking action and showing our Faith to others, rather than us simply telling other about it.
We could end up making a new and unexpected friend.

We all share a similar affliction, whether it be drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, food, abuse, smoking … the list, my friends, is endless. Trust in Jesus. And call a friend. You are not alone in the desert the way you think you might be. We don’t have to give up our birthright for a bowl of stew. We don’t ever have to face Satan on our own. Not ever.
