What starts out as everyday picnic lunch which young William is sharing with his grandfather, transcends into a magical otherworldly adventure into a daydream world.Enter into this journey a bedraggled toy wooden bee in need of repair and a friend,quite by accident William finds that he can change this bee from wooden to real,as a consequence he now has a friend he can share his adventure with,they travel on to meet a high flying Spanish coupler shortly afterwards they are joined by a cheeky fantail bird and William gets to meet his grandmother who had died before he was born,in to this mix add a purple cat who loves poetry, luminescent dragon flies,neon night bees,and a Scotsman struggling to get a tune from his bagpipes.In a quiet moment while watching honeybees at work, young William finds himself face to face with a bee. Its hypnotic gaze transports him to a daydream world where time is compressed. This dream world reflects some of William’s own character of wonder and surprise, where fact and fiction mingle in a whimsical way.On the journey down his daydream road, he has several interesting adventures. First, William meets a wooden bee that needs a little help. Then along comes a feisty fantail bird named Flit, who speaks with a Scottish accent. His next encounter is with his grandmother, who died years before William was born. He also comes upon a purple cat that spouts poetry by William Wordsworth.Luminescent dragonflies lead the way to a kindly fellow named McGregor, who enjoys playing the bagpipes. Through a rainbow tunnel, William searches for his way back to the picnic from his daydream world. And it all began with A Bee’s Kiss.
