“Moving Sale” is a commemorative work of creative nonfiction that was written to honour the lives of a dear elderly couple who raised their family in East Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada during the latter half of the twentieth century. It recounts the events of their life-changing moving sale--the day when downsizing prompts this elderly couple to sift through the rich memories and feelings that such a major life transition evoke. “Moving Sale” is very much a celebration of the values and beliefs that make many immigrant families so very strong in the face of tremendous challenge and change.
