MAISIE POPS is a true story. It is a mid-20th Century period piece focusing on a compelling mix of happy times, hardships, histrionics and health issues experienced by a single-minded, sensitive and somewhat rebellious woman. Born a Cockney Londoner one year before the outbreak of World War I, during peace time and through ten war years, May Faulkner-Lowe … “Maisie Pops” to her husband … made some life-choices that predated the ‘girl-power’ phenomenon by several decades. Then, towards the end of her life, she wrote down, in note form, her journey from infancy to grand-motherhood, spanning 1913 to 1965. Those notes have been faithfully transcribed and elaborated upon by her son David … a.k.a. the independent author, broadcaster, actor, feature writer and photo-journalist Lewis Adler. Out of courtesy to some families and individuals encountered by “Maisie Pops” during her life, a small number of surnames have been changed.
