The need for unity exists not only in relation to Europe, but also to the world community itself. How can we face up to challenges such as climate change other than as a far more cooperative network of states that recognizes a universal community of interests? The answer can only be a new global order that will create a common, more cooperative, and more integrated international system. That should bethe goal of us all.
