The Moore Plantation has sat abandoned for 300 years. One particular night, a strange girl walks out of the Moore Plantation. Her skin and eyes are as white as snow.

After a bad day in the swamps, Jim and Randy were arguing about the broken boat motor and how Randy was supposed to get it fixed. Lou stays out of it and watches. The Jim spots a white figure on the shore and turns on the spotlight. She tries to lure them to the shore. When that fails she screams, and all there feel as if all the strength in their bodies is being sucked out of them. Loue steers the boat away from her and they escape. Later, after they get back to the town of Banyon, Lou takes them into the bar across from the swamps and tells them of Richard Moore and his daughter Madeline. That is when they meet Mike Hayes, a writer from Virginia.

Lou tells them about a slave named Phillip, whom Moore beat to death with a whip, and how his mother a Haitian voodoo queeen put a curse on Moore and his daughter. Both vanished that same night and the Plantation was abandoned. Lou also tells them that anyone who goes there never comes back. Jim doesn't believer in the curse and lets Mike talk him into taking him out ot the plantation. Both promptly disappear.

Soof after Lou goes looking for him, it draws Lou into the world of ghosts, demons and even a werewolf. Lou would like nothing more than to run away. But he is a man of his word. His best friend has vanished and his girlfriend has broken up with him and the sheriff seems determined to pin something on Lou, whom he has known since they were children. Neither one has ever liked or trusted the other.
