I’m constantly trying to understand who I am so that I can turn the inspiration in my heart into something tangible, into a feeling that can be experienced by someone else.

You connect with people when you’re authentic—when you do things the way that comes naturally.

I’ll tell you this: people don’t care about whether a song was number one when they’re listening to it in a concert setting.

That’s why I tell younger artists to dream big. Dream as big as you can. If you can see it, you can make things happen for yourself.
