Recent big-city transplant and small-town business owner, Arthur, finds himself selected to chair the committee for the Sellabration Days Festival, an annual “retail event” held by the town's New Lower Old-Towne Merchants Association.

His wife and business co-owner, Linda, finds Arthur's ineptness in this role an on-going source of mirth as Arthur, always disinclined to socialize, must now interact with fellow members of the Association and town-folk.

As Chair, Arthur must also learn and adapt to the disparate festival requirements encompassing a patchwork of one-way inter-town rivalry, awkward folk tradition, and shameless mercantilism.

As Arthur endeavors to carry out his role in some minimally acceptable way, he is challenged by what fellow members of the New Lower Old-Towne Merchants Association consider an acceptable festival, this in a town that has for decades been in decline with a general economic malaise and a growing substance abuse problem.

Things become further complicated for Arthur as old friend Kevin, of distinctly dubious character, moves in across the street from Arthur and Linda's shop, and sets up his own business which may or may not be engaged in illegal activities.

Arthur and Linda's desire to keep a low profile, the reason they moved to this small town in the first place, is at risk as Kevin's presence draws them into his world, whatever that may be, by mere association.

Arthur and Linda must decide to stay or leave, as their own enterprise may not withstand much scrutiny as the town increasingly becomes a focus of law enforcement.
