And so began twenty years of travelling with their family of up to eight children and their friends by a variety of other means – car, minibus, train and boat – all of which offered their share of mishaps and catastrophes. Travelling Hopefully is a hilarious yet true account of the adventures and misadventures befalling this large British family as they travelled around Britain and the Continent in the 60s, 70s and 80s – when there were no mobile phones, internet, debit cards…or even pre-packed sandwiches and bottled water.
