This is the study of yet another tragedy in the American experience, resulting from a misunderstanding between an adult and a child. An event so well-mediated and heartfelt that the mourning of that child spread to other overseas nations. The study recognizes the not guilty decision rendered to the adult in this situation, but speculates as to the real truth in the matter through untold testimony and the re-arrangement of facts. This study will review areas of society including racism, profiling, gun control and child endangerment, among others. It is a look at the incident through various theoretical perspectives of sociology, and it is the hope that this child's life was not taken in vain; that it will encourage social members to focus on the greater safety of our children, as opposed to racial conflict.
