Blogger/columnist Paul Burke and his partner Hélène Rappaneau, who owns a busy café along the French Riviera, are visiting the beautiful island of Corsica on a working holiday. They start their trip in a small coastal community, enjoying the peace and quiet of seaside life. But the tranquility is shattered when the bodies of two men are found on the village beach. When Burke gets a close-up look at the two corpses, he’s stunned. They’re wearing the jerseys of Burke’s hometown hockey team, the Montréal Canadiens. Burke is interested in finding out what happened, but Rappaneau tells him to leave the investigating to the local police. Burke agrees and they continue their trip, ending in the port city of Bastia where Burke, an ex-pro cyclist, is going to cover a trade show on bicycles.
