How to Write a Press Release

It’s important that we dig right into a critical PR basic: press release writing.

I have attached a sample press release below as a guideline, but there are many ways to format a press release. There are some standard guidelines to follow.

    Here they are:

set up like this: The Problem. The Solution. The Benefit.
  • b5100845609has quoted4 years ago
With all of the above leads one thing is true: the first sentence gives all the critical information. If you stopped reading there you would “get” the story. All other sentences are in support of the lead.
There is also something in journalism called the “inverted pyramid” style of news writing. It works like this:
Put all important facts in the lead

That’s it. The lead paragraph is always just one sentence.

PR itself is useless unless it helps an organization sell something.

on’t forget what it’s all about: selling an idea or product or issue.

The objective will often be the same: communicate a message(s) to an audience to benefit the organization, brand, or subject.
