This book is a pleasure to read-and also a challenge. The writer's sense of humour will bring many a smile to your face-perhaps even make you chuckle. The Lord's hand is evident throughout, leading, protecting, supplying, filling with joy, strengthening and upholding in difficulty. It brings glory to our wonderful God! As you read your own faith will be strengthened by Betty's frequent testimony to the Lord's goodness and faithfulness. And you might even find yourself asking: If He used Bisset's, could He not enable and use me also to take the message of HIs salvation to needy, hungry hearts? The book illustrates that the Lord does not call all His servants in the same way-just as no two of us came to the foot of the Cross by the same route, except for one thing: we all heard the Lord saying tenderly: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you” (Jer.31:3). And so we came…how thankful we are that we did and received eternal life. But the Lord doesn't stop with saving our souls. He has purchased us with His blood on the cross. Now we are His and no longer belong to ourselves. He wants our entire being for himself. He wants to be Lord of our lives. And so again He draws and calls. Some of His children respond quickly, others “reluctantly,” as did the writer of this book. But she DID answer His call and has never regretted it.
