Mixed feelings. Author's honesty is something I do appreciate, yet she is probably not a Feminist I want to become.

🙈Lost On Me

I am sorry but it's a white feminist book. The first two parts are about a feminist that screws up and goes through some shit and has barely any consequences in a white world. Valenti at times tries to bring back her Italian heritage which sometimes work, sometimes it doesn't make any sense. Also it seems like sometimes she is kind of bragging about her "wild" life .
But when I got to read the third part, with stories like 'ice' or 'cherry' my heart melted. It was well written and lovely and so accomplished. For this third part I see Jessica Valenti is a good writer, but personally I don't think she is very good at writing feminist anecdotes without losing the real meaning or morals of the story.

🎯Worthwhile

Raw autobiography. Some things are hard to read, let alone empathize. But it’s definitely worth it — helps to remember, to not lose sight of the bigger picture of women’s rights.
