The plot of Erin Go Kill is basically, but not entirely, fictional. Many of the referenced places, events and people, as well as all of the Ulster regulations cited from that time, are set in accurate historical contexts. However, since the Good Friday Peace Agreement in 1989, Ulster is a far more peaceful place to live and to visit.
