Christmas Eve in rural Kentucky becomes an unforgettable journey through loyalty, loneliness, and the quiet realities of life in this poignant holiday story by John Fox Jr..
Originally featured in Christmas Eve on Lonesome and Other Stories, Christmas Night with Satan follows Satan, a beloved domesticated black dog, as he wanders through the countryside after becoming separated from his mistress on Christmas Eve. Along the way, he encounters a pack of stray dogs and experiences the harsh and uncertain world beyond the comfort of home.
Rich with regional atmosphere and emotional realism, this moving story captures the texture of rural Kentucky life and the bittersweet beauty of the holiday season. Though its title suggests something darker, the tale is deeply human at heart — a reflective and quietly powerful portrait of companionship, survival, and belonging.
Warmly narrated by John Riddle, this audiobook brings the winter landscapes and emotional depth of the story vividly to life.
