Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874-1936) was an English writer best known for his fictional priest-detective, Father Brown. In The Queer Feet, Father Brown pulls off an outstanding and captivating piece of deduction when he hears very odd footsteps in a most peculiar hotel in London, where a secret society is dining.
