For most of my life I have felt the pull of two influences. On one side there is the learning, performing, accomplishing influence that urges me to turn everything into a project and complete as much work as I possibly can. On the other side there is a call to inner peace and stillness, communing with nature, building relationships, creating experiences and embracing the moment. I think there is a time and a place for both.
As I’ve aged, the need for rest has increased. Not rest from a physical perspective, although there is some of that, but rest from a spiritual perspective – a chance to let go and ponder and slow down. That’s what this book is about: simplifying, loving, existing, living in the present and seeing with new eyes.
