Ally Wiegand

Ally Wiegand is an American author best known for her romance novels in the Chicago Heartbreakers series. Her debut novel, First Base (2024), launched her writing career and led to a publishing contract for the series. Wiegand writes stories that combine romantic themes with sports.

Growing up in rural Illinois, Ally Wiegand began writing as a child. She continued writing throughout high school, and after graduating from college in 2020, she turned her attention to fiction. Encouraged by her fiancé, Wiegand began working on First Base in August 2022. Despite more than 100 rejections, she signed with literary agent Saskia Leach in 2023 and soon received several publishing offers.

The Chicago Heartbreakers series begins with First Base (2024), featuring Maggie Redford, a photographer for Chicago's Major League Baseball team, and Tommy Mikals, a player with a troubled reputation. The two enter into a fake relationship for public relations purposes, but their interactions blur the lines between professional and personal.

The second book in the series, Going for Two (2024), follows quarterback Nolan Hill as he deals with a career-threatening injury. He is assigned a new physical therapist, Lottie Thompson, and their initial differences give way to a deeper connection as they work together.
