Pete May

Pete May is a British author, journalist, blogger, and university lecturer. He authored several children's, sports, and amusing books, including What Are Words Worth? (2020), a humorous look at the life of a jobbing writer.

His other books are Man About Tarn, Goodbye To Boleyn, Whovian Dad, The Joy of Essex, There's A Hippo In My Cistern, Rent Boy, Hammers in the Heart, and West Ham: Irons in the Soul.

Pete May was born in Essex. He attended Shenfield School and earned BA from the University of Lancaster.

As a journalist, he has written for the Guardian, the Observer, the Independent, the Daily Telegraph, New Statesman, Loaded, Midweek, Time Out, and numerous other publications.

Pete has also been an associate lecturer in sports journalism at the London College of Communication. His blog — Hammersintheheart — has had more than a million views.

Pete May now lives in London with his wife and two daughters.
