The year is 1905 and King Edward VII has invited himself and his mistress to a shooting weekend with the Dilbernes. Now Isobel, the Countess, must turn a run-down mansion into a palace fit for a king. Just as well the family fortunes have been restored, but money can't solve everything… not even a kidnapping.

The servants refuse to condone the King's morals; Isobel's daughter, Lady Rosina – now widowed and wealthy – insists on publishing a scandalous book, and the mis-spent pasts of Viscount Arthur and his Irish-American wife Minnie rear up to blacken the family name. When fate deals a hand in the middle of the shooting party, Isobel must consider not only her leading position in Society, but her entire future.

Fay Weldon brings an aristocratic Edwardian household to fabulous, vibrant life in this gorgeously witty tale of manners and morals, commoners and countesses, from one of Britain's best loved authors.

Cupcakes, Christmas, Cupid? This one's a great holiday read. Florian MacMillian needs a final job to complete his baking resume. Kate Delore desperately needs help in her fast-growing cupcake business. It's not groundbreaking plot, but Beth Barany definitely does know how to capture a mood, vibe and the love in the air.

If you want a short, sweet, holiday romance - this is it.

The Purple Owl Café has a chequered sixty-year history. These days it's not just a place for good music and conversation, it also happens to be a lesbian bar.
Katie doesn't mind, though so far her life was too busy for romance of any kind. But that's about to change when Katie meets Jess at the Christmas Eve party at the Purple Owl Café…

Mischief Night brings together the best work from Roddy Lumsden's three previous collections, as well as a whole new collection, The Drowning Man. It also contains poems from his pamphlet The Bubble Bride and the previously uncollected sonnet sequence Cavoli Riscaldati. 'Sharp, bright and utterly heartbreaking, this collection by one of the most intriguing voices is alternatingly roguish, curmudgeonly, insecure, and tender.

A great reimagination of great historical figures and what they would do.

Her great friend Jane Austen warned her against accepting a position at Miss Climpson’s Select Seminary for Young Ladies. Nevertheless, just before Christmas, Miss Arabella Dempsey finds herself face to face with French aristocrats and international spies – and it’s all because of Reginald ‘Turnip’ Fitzhugh, often mistaken for the elusive spy the Pink Carnation, who has blundered across her path.

Another short and sweet compilation of the cutest tales.

A jilted bride discovers just how exciting the single life can be when she goes on her honeymoon alone, and finds herself the object of affection in Hawaii. Housecleaner Allie unexpectedly finds herself snowed in with a mysterious man with a secret he refuses to share, and with only each other as company, attraction sparks between them…

It's cloying sweet tales, but hey, it's Christmas and we can all appreciate some cheer once in a while.

A New Year’s Eve revelation is on its way … but will it leave Evie with a happy heart, or will she allow the pre-Christmas past to dictate her future?
