Even if you watched that horrible Leonardo DiCaprio movie and know what's gonna happening, the book is still terribly riveting and difficult to put down. It's got a great pace, and builds up enough suspense to make you want to finish the book in one sitting.

With more riches than the families on Downton Abbey, and more drama than your typical family from a 7pm Taiwanese series, Crazy Rich Asians is a trainwreck you can't look away from. It's supposedly based on lives of the elite in Singapore, so if you read closely, you might just put two and two together on who's who.

After Corlis' parents dies, she moves back into their family home, only to find out that her bully/'black sheep' older brother has the same idea and her timid younger brother never moved out. #sux2bme They all want the house, so they must gang up two against one to buy the remaining one out. Sibling rivalry and psychological games don't get better than this.

The Kite Runner goes through many time frames, from the fall of Afghanistan's monarchy through the Soviet military intervention, the exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the rise of the Taliban regime. It's all grim and sadtimes in this novel, but the redemption that comes at the end is priceless.
