This is one of the greatest literary works of all time, I think. It's brilliantly mysterious and ambiguous to the end, and I love Bartleby. He's a gloomier version of Ferris Bueller - absolutely determined not to do any work, no matter how much others think he ought to.

A domestic chiller about a young family’s brush with an unidentified stalker, the story is menacing enough to keep the pages turning, and astute enough about rocky relationships to make even the narrator wince.

I loved this inspiring memoir about a woman changing her life and finding true happiness.

A brilliant guide to living a stress-free life, if you're enlightened enough to practice what it preaches. (I'm not, but I love the theory!)

This is one of my favourites of Val McDermid's books - totally gripping from first word to last.

This is a memorable, hilarious and dark novel about life and love - not for the fainthearted, however.
