Thirteen-year-old Satomi Baker is used to being different. It is 1939 and being half-white, half-Japanese on the west coast of California gets you noticed. Although she has never felt she quite fits in, her striking looks have caught the eye of the most popular boy at school. It will be years before she will discover who she really is under the surface of her skin. A Girl Like You is her story, and the riveting and moving story of a lost generation.

Just one of my favourite books ever! I read it again and again every summer season. They can call it old-style but for me it's a great way to feel a story of the real man. It's good both for men and women to read. Take a soft pillow, an apple and open the first page. Enjoy reading and don't forget to share your experience!

An enjoyable and thoughtful read by a talented first time author. Scene development is wonderful. The Oregon mountains, forests, creeks, rivers, lakes and climate come alive. It kept the readers attention, was difficult to put down due to desire to find out what happened next. Great book for all ages, young and old!

"Thanks for the Memories" is set mainly in Ireland and in a clever way tells you about a lot of the local architecture. It is about 2 people whose lives cross in a most unusual way and their, at times hilarious interactions with their own families and friends. If you love Cecelia Ahern - this book will become one of your favorites.

Experience of being single in London, of being dumped, getting over it and falling for it all over again. Nice book to read for all girls from 20 to 40.

The Panama HotelThe old Seattle landmark has been boarded up for decades, but now the new owner has made a startling discovery in the basement: personal belongings stored away by Japanese families sent to interment camps during the Second World War. Among the fascinated crowd gathering outside the hotel, stands Henry Lee, and, as the owner unfurls a distinctive parasol, he is flooded by memories of his childhood. He wonders if by some miracle, in amongst the boxes of dusty treasures, lies a link to the Okabe family, and the girl he lost his young heart to, so many years ago.
