    An indirect object can be preceded by the word to or for.
    So the sentence
    Her sent the school a letter.
    could be rephrased as
    Her father sent a letter to the school..

    Some verbs commonly take an indirect object as well as a direct object. These include bring, buy, give, send, show, tell.
