Wuthering Heights, went through a time span of more than thirty years, described such a complex, thrilling story which told the emotional entanglements between two families of two generations of the Earnshaw and Linton. If the author followed the traditional path to write, the structure of the novel would probably be a set pattern of the single structure. As a result of it, in order to show a complete story, the author have to make the novel too much spectacular. However, Emily, the author of Wuthering Heights, to break with tradition, adopt the basic flashback for writing---the primary portion of the novel was narrated from the end and only first three chapters and last four chapters were chronological narrative. Emily brought the readers the desolate and declined environment, indifferent and nervous atmosphere, which shows the basic structure of the love revenge storm. As a result, the novel generated a variety of suspension in front of Lockwood and the readers. The description of what Lockwood met and dreamed of brought a kind of dismal and mysterious feeling to the heights and made the heights more suspensible. The readers could not wait to find the answer.
