RJ Davis, a thirty-something Houston criminal defense attorney, practices law with a passion. His passion was acquired through the experience of being wrongly convicted of a crime and exonerated only after spending five years in a Texas maximum security prison. Now a successful lawyer, he has built a reputation of fighting for his clients to insure that no other innocent is swept up in a rush to judgment, as he was. Yet, this moral compass is tested when he is retained to defend the accused murderess, Scarlett Dixon, a teenager who is shy and introverted.
