This inspirational story is based on the author’s real-life struggles. Even though she was terrified of the library because of her low literacy level, Carey knew the importance of not allowing her fears to grow within her own children. Facing a fear is never easy but Carey wanted her children to embrace books rather than hold the same fear she held towards them. Although her main purpose was to conquer her fear and create family memories, the library experience blossomed into so much more.
