Having been evicted from a council estate in Islington, Daniel moves into a studio flat in the outskirts of London. At his new school, he becomes smitten with the Head Boy who defends him from the Anarcats, a trio of masked delinquents intent on terrorising students and teachers.
Witnessing street fights, getting involved in drug gangs or being coerced to cross-dress by the headmistress couldn't faze Daniel as did seeing his house burn down and his alcoholic mother disappear on Valentine’s Day. Yet Daniel gains new friends who support him in his quest to capture the Head Boy’s heart and find out the identities of the arsonist and Anarcats.
