Cheryl Fields began her life in Chicago, the only daughter of a hard-drinking Navy man. She lost her mother at an early age and has learned to love from a man. Cheryl’s life is colored by man’s perception of women. It’s not always good.
As a college student living out her father’s dream of a college degree, Cheryl falls in love with Mike, the leader of Gamma Beta Psi fraternity, and the most athletic and handsome brother on campus.
Cheryl has learned to see men for who they are and not expect too much in the way of love or respect. Then a young Christian, Perry, decides to pledge Mike’s fraternity despite Cheryl’s warning him off Gamma’s violent hazing traditions. When Perry leads Cheryl to faith in Jesus, Mike and his fraternity brothers react in typical Gamma fashion.
Cheryl has to rescue Perry from the brothers’ clutches while learning about her new faith. She uses what Perry has taught about God’s faith and what she’s learned from her father: how to handle men. Getting inside a man’s mind is easy for her. Knowing how to follow God, not so much.
Cheryl decides to give Perry’s God a chance to prove what Perry preaches, that God sees Cheryl as a queen and will protect her through each trial she meets.
If she believes.
Members of historic Black Greek-letter organizations such as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, and others will be restored to the days of pledging and becoming part of international sister and brotherhoods.
