Jason’s brother David became trapped behind a military quarantine around the city of Atlanta. Terrorists have unleashed a biological weapon that devolves its victims into what the news refuses to call zombies. There is no way to reach his family member, and both he and his wife are becoming concerned for his well-being. But, what can they do?
Jason’s former Special Action Group team leader Spencer arrives with the answer. More accurately, he comes with a problem, and together they find a way to help one another. The CDC is researching a cure to this new weapon, and their lead scientist is trapped behind the quarantine. Their only option is to request the help of a unique search and rescue team from the military to infiltrate the city and retrieve the doctor before everyone becomes infected.
The military continues to observe the situation, and as things deteriorate, a discussion of nuclear options comes to the table. Most are against destroying the city’s destruction, but they weigh the risks against lives lost.
Atlanta explores the balance between upper command decisions and on-the-ground morality in an apocalyptic setting while our characters struggle to survive and maintain their humanity.
