A Pirate's Love
Sailing westward toward the Caribbean sun, young Bettina Verlaine obediently sets out to fulfill the promise made by her father--but not by her heart — a prearranged marriage destined not to be…once the notorious Captain Tristan's pirate ship appears on the horizon.
Abducted by the bold and handsome brigand, the pale-haired beauty surrenders her innocence in the warm caress of the tropical winds — detesting her virile captor for enslaving her. . .yet loving him for the passionate spell he casts over fragile, yearning heart.

Rape, rapey rape, rape, rape, raping rapey rape, painful rape, attempted rape, rape. Then some past love interest shows up and stockholm syndrome sets in. Sex, thinly veiled mysteries unmasked, HEA. Had to skim read it. So bad.... so unromantic. Barf

    👍Worth reading

Good novel to read while passing time, though I'm pleased that Bettina found happiness towards the end, I'm not so satisfied with Tristan's character, his actions and intimate treatment of Bettina could have been a lot more compassionate due to how his mother was treated in the past. I've read may Johanna Lindsay novels and I know Tristan's character could have been better and more loveable
