Soul Drawings

Like his previous book of erotic drawings, Gerald Schoenewolf's collection of soul drawings also began as doodles, done mindlessly while he was listening to patients, talking on the phone, enjoying classical or jazz music or sitting on his deck contemplating his life.  As such, they also give expression to unconscious memories and emotions.  These are primitive, whimsical drawings that are appealing because of the author's original style and his sharp observation of human beings and animals.   He compares these soul drawings to dreams or fantasies; like dreams and fantasies they can be interpreted with regard to their unconscious meanings.  There are 109 drawings in all, divided into four categories: outdoor drawings, which he refers to as “unspoiled nature”; animals (mostly in nature); humans (mostly women in nature); and portraits.  This collection what Schoenewolf calls psycho-art will be of interest to artists and lovers of art; to psychologists and lovers of psychology; and to those who like humorous drawings.  "These drawings will appeal to everybody!” he says.
