I thought that seeing Silas Davies again, the man responsible for all of my torture and degradation at the hands of the Resistance, would be the greatest punch in the gut possible... and it is bad.

But finding Atlas’ father standing next to him is worse.

I hiss like a psycho, ducking past him and stomping over to the closet only to find Atlas in there getting changed.

I get a full view of his naked ass and almost swoon like a freaking maiden at the sight of the tanned muscle there, completely overwhelmed with all of the enraged, horny, gut-wrenching feelings swirling through me.

The man has a dump truck and I want to sink my teeth into it.

    Jesus fucking Christ.

I look longingly at the rest of Gryphon’s nachos.

He rolls his eyes and hands them to me without uttering a word, and I decide that I’m keeping him forever. Keeping my secrets, not loathing me for my gift, and sharing his food with me even when I’ve eaten enough already not to warrant it?

He might be it for me.

    Stop thinking about it, Oli.

I take a breath and remind my bond that men ain’t shit.
  • b7919436145has quoted2 months ago
    Right.

Just knock on the door, Oli. Man up. Woman up? Fuck, what’s a better, more inclusive way of saying ‘get your fucking shit together and stop being a little cry baby about this, woman’?

. His bond touches my skin, gently stroking over my shoulders and down my body, though it stops respectfully around my waist.

If it went any lower I might’ve just spread out on the mats and begged him to Bond with me.

He breaks away from my lips and murmurs, “Keep thinking like that and I will, Bond.”

My cheeks heat and I shove at his chest to stumble away from him. “Stay the fuck out of my head, Shore! That’s also a party foul, you’re on thin ice.”

“I really need to figure out how to get the chip out. Once that’s dealt with… I’ll have to leave.”

He nods and tucks me in even closer. “We. We’ll have to leave. You’re not getting rid of me, Sweetness. Not ever.”

He doesn’t reply straight away and there’s only so long I can sit in the restroom without Gloria thinking I have IBS or something, so I send one last text and then shove my phone away, getting back to work.

    Where’s your backbone gone?”

Red flag waving right at me, I unclench my jaw to spit out, “Why did you laugh at me? Why is it so fucking funny that I would want you while my bond was out of control? Why—”

He cuts me off with his lips.

    On mine.

And my bond explodes out of my chest towards him, wrapping us up together. He grunts at the force of it but doesn’t stop kissing me, his lips insistent on mine.

    I just got butterflies 🦋 😍

When he breaks away from me he murmurs, “I don’t give a fuck about having more power. I don’t give a fuck about what other people might want or think of our Bond group. I laughed because I spent weeks in your bed, trying to convince myself that I could be patient and wait for you to be ready, and it felt good to know that maybe you were struggling with it too. I laughed because you came here and acted as though you were above us all, and yet you were barely keeping it together around me. I didn’t know how badly you were struggling. I would’ve never taken that situation lightly.”
