“Dances on the Plains” seeks to reflect the period between March and July, 2014, during the Nigerian National Conference 2014, when a cross section of Nigerians at home and in diaspora were selected, gathered in Abuja, Nigeria and mandated to discuss, negotiate, ventilate and proffer solutions to all the nagging problems presently troubling and militating against all facets of the Nation: socially, economically, religiously and so on: presumably, in an unfettered and secure milieu. “Dances of the Plains”, coming after; “Clementines”, “Sentinels” and “My Song”, also contains a few poems that I was able to write down, between November, 2013 and July, 2014 (in England and Nigeria). I danced in my private pantomime and also danced with the patriots. This collection of Poems, reflects the various dances executed by others and I, culminating in the unique curtain-call in Abuja.' There are also tributes to: Nelson Mandela, Chinua Achebe,Maya Angelou, Dora Akunyili and Trayvon Martin. Another collection by Orok Otu Duke— (Author of: “Clementines”, “Sentinels” and “My Song”).
