This is a book for children … and for teachers. It serves as an attempt to remedy the mischaracterization and miseducation regarding Indigenous Americans that all too commonly take place in America's schools during the period from Columbus Day to Thanksgiving. As such, it is an answer to the false, careless and stereotypical books, activities and "lessons" we continue to see. More generally, it is a book about the richness and responsibilities of diversity.
