Vegetables are important in human diet as they provide nutritional and health benefits. In India, potato, tomato, chilli, cucurbits, brinjal and okra are economically important and occupy approximately 50 % of the total area under vegetable production. Vegetable crops are largely cultivated by small and marginal farmers and diseases are the major limiting factors to sustainable vegetable production. The emphasize has been given to adopt integrated disease management approaches involving cultural, crop management, host resistance, biological and chemical methods to reduce cost of production in sustainable manner. Colour photographs are included in each chapter for easy identification of disease.
