In the 1970s, when his wife was looking for an opponent to box against, a trucker started a female topless boxing club.
The club died down in the 1990s. However, when his granddaughter learned about the club in which her grandmother boxed, she and her friends decided to start their own female fighting club. They changed the rules to stand-up striking with MMA gloves, and knee and elbow strikes also allowed. They soon learned it was easier to start a topless boxing club in the 1970s than it was in the new millennium. But they also found that many women were still eager to compete bare-chested in combat sports.
