A Work in Progress

I just wanted friends. I just wanted people to talk to me who appreciated me. And even to this day, as hard as I try, I still find myself sitting alone on my couch on some weekends with no invites to hang out.

This is the only face and body you’re ever going to get, so be comfortable and happy in it. Own it. Own every aspect of who you are and present it to the world with the utmost pride.

“If you like you, that’s all that matters. If you don’t, then maybe you could work out why that is.”

“If you wanna make cool shit, you gotta make cool shit,”

Parents don’t understand cool. Never have. Never will.

I learned a lot about who I am. That’s what high school is all about: finding yourself, figuring out what makes you tick

“Just be yourself,” parents and grandparents often say, but that’s easier said than done.

This is what happens in high school. We’re exposed to what’s not familiar while trying to work out who we are. We explore, make bad decisions, and learn from them.

There’s no use worrying about things that are out of your control.

Life should be more about living in the moment than fearing what’s happening outside it
